  • How is Therapy Structured

The duration of therapy varies depending on your individual needs, goals, and the issues you’re addressing. Some clients may find resolution in 8-10 sessions, while others may engage in therapy over months or years. to address a multitude of goals. Therapy is a personal journey, and we will work together to determine the best course for you.

Our normal therapy sessions typically last 30, 45 to 53 minutes. We also offer extended sessions and intensives for those who may need more time, particularly for intensive work such as trauma processing or deeper exploration. The length of the session can be customized based on your needs and preferences. However, extended sessions and intensives are ot covered by insurance at this time.

  • What is an EMDR Intensive

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy offers a unique approach to healing trauma and distressing memories. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR focuses on rewiring memory networks to desensitize and reprocess old memories, ultimately changing how you feel and react to life.

At Resilient Roads, we believe in EMDR therapy, offering both intensive and traditional weekly sessions tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're looking to address specific traumas or accelerate your healing process, we are here to support you every step of the way.

EMDR intensives are particularly beneficial for individuals who:

    1. Seek Faster Results: EMDR intensives allow for concentrated sessions lasting 3 to 4 hours per day, or even multiple days in a row. This accelerated format can lead to faster resolution of trauma symptoms compared to traditional weekly therapy sessions.

    2. Have Specific Goals: If you have one or two specific issues or traumas you want to address, EMDR intensives provide focused and uninterrupted time to process these challenges deeply.

    3. Prefer Intensive Treatment: Some individuals find that intensive therapy suits their preferences better than weekly sessions. The concentrated nature of EMDR intensives can provide a more profound and transformative therapeutic experience.

    4. Are Ready for Deep Work: EMDR intensives allow you and your therapist to delve deeply into your healing journey without the constraints of shorter, weekly sessions. This format facilitates comprehensive exploration and processing of complex emotions and memories.

  • Can EMDR be done virtually?
